When I first met with Kelsey and Dave, they were still mapping out a lot of details for their big day. But I could definitely tell that they wanted to have a lot of fun with their planning, incorporating special details and a lot of whimsical touches. As the day approached and I saw more and more of the plans, I knew this would be a party their friends and family wouldn’t soon forget!
I felt so lucky to be a part of Kelsey and Dave’s big day – they were so much fun to work with and enjoyed their day from start to finish!

Kelsey and Dave were married on a very popular date this past year – 9.10.11. I loved the hanger Kelsey had made to commemorate the day.
Kelsey and her bridesmaids relaxed in Kelsey’s suite at the Amalfi Hotel while they had hair and makeup done. This is always a great way to start the wedding day!
To start off the festivities the couple chose to have a Chinese tea ceremony, held at the hotel. Kelsey donned a beautiful cheongsam for the ceremony.
After the tea ceremony, it was time for Kelsey to put on her beautiful white wedding dress! She had plenty of fantastic bridesmaids to help make sure she looked perfect.
Ashland Addison Florist took care of the flowers for the day and did an absolutely amazing job with Kelsey’s bouquet!
The final additions to Kelsey’s look included her birdcage veil…
…and a fabulous sequined pair of red TOMS! Kelsey was able to be cute and comfortable throughout the day.
Dave was dashing in a fabulous suit, and I can never resist a fun boutonniere shot.
Even though the couple had already seen each other during the tea ceremony, they had a “first look” once Kelsey had changed dresses.
The day brought beautiful Chicago weather, so the couple was able to go around the city for photos with their wedding party.
Did I mention there was a mustache theme to the day?
Kelsey and Dave also incorporated balloons into their wedding. This white balloon took a lot of helium to fill, but it was definitely worth it!
The wedding party ended photos at the ceremony and reception venue, Ravenswood Event Center. One area of the venue has an amazing collection of classic cars. Usually you cannot touch the cars, but an exception was made for the couple and they were able to pose in this fantastic red convertible…which happens to be the car from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off!
Up next, I’m excited to share Kelsey and Dave’s ceremony and fantastic reception!
