Honey Bee Weddings is a proud member of NACE

I’m excited to announce that I have taken a position on the Chicago board of the National Association for Catering & Events, which is a non-profit organization that connects caterers, event planners, and event professionals. I will be assisting with the planning and coordination of events as the Programming Chair.

About NACE

The mission at NACE is to support the catering and events industry by educating and investing in our community.

Educationally, we have a Signature Speaker Series, where we provide speakers for the members of NACE to attend in person or online all over the country. The foundation also offers grant-based investments in our chapter by providing high-quality educational programs at the local level. Along with merit-based scholarships that give the opportunity to connect scholars with a mentorship program. We hope to build knowledge and connections that will have an impact on the careers of all members forever.

As the Programming Chair, I will be creating fun and educational events for Chicago NACE members. These events are what helps financially support and meet our goals and I am filled with joy that I can be apart of this foundation!

Erin + Joe’s Union League of Chicago Wedding

This wonderful winter wedding was such a joy to plan! I loved how the organic floral design complimented the regal Union League Club.  The cozy fireplace and Christmas lights added the perfect touch. It was a delightful evening, that was filled with lots of love!

Green Wedding Alliance

Green Wedding Alliance
Along with living an eco-friendly lifestyle, I have recently joined the Green Wedding Alliance this past year. I am excited to say that I have taken a role with the organization as the Membership Committee Chair!

About GWA
We are a group of professional wedding and event-related vendors helping clients in the Chicagoland area find environmentally friendly companies to work with. Our goal is to connect a growing community of environmentally and socially responsible event vendors with our customers that share the same views. We currently have over 50 member vendors and are continuing to grow. If you are looking for vendors for anything from rental & decor to gifts & favors, we would love to help supply you with the most eco-friendly products and services.

My Position
As the membership committee chair, I help with the application process of companies who wish to join our team! I get to connect with companies and venues that are interested in joining our team by helping them with our application process.

I’m so happy to be apart of this community and work alongside other eco-friendly companies!

The Old Post Office Venue Preview

This past October, I had the opportunity to attend an exclusive preview at the newly designed The Old Post Office in Chicago. The venue did a wonderful job with the decoration and execution of the delightful lunch and tour. As soon as I walked into the white marble historic lobby, they had a welcoming staff serving treats and bubbles.

Throughout the tour, there were many beautiful touches to the newly designed Post Office, but my favorite was the Vault room. There was a real spindle wheel handle that showed the authenticity of the Old Post Office. On the ceiling, you could even see the brick from the original post office, which I thought was a great way to incorporate the old with the new.

If the old-style vault doesn’t interest you, they also added bocce, pool, and a wrap-around bar right next to a beautiful view of the Chicago River.

These features of this event space are just fabulous and I can’t wait to see some events in action! I was told there might even be an opening of a rooftop bar… that is, if we will ever get through this winter!

Elizabeth + Mark’s Wedding

Elizabeth and Mark’s had a beautifully elegant wedding at Our Lady of Mount Carmel and a reception at the Standard Club. The maroon, pink and green flower color palette was a smart choice for the fall wedding.

It was such a pleasure to apart of Elizabeth and Mark’s special day!

Sunday Funday at the Annual Bridal Walk of Luxury

Modern Luxury Weddings hosted their 13th Annual Bridal Walk of Luxury on October 20th, where Honey Bee Weddings was so happy to be apart of!

This wonderful Sunday Extravaganza for brides-to- be began at the Hotel Sofitel and worked its way down North Rush Street. There was champagne, shopping, and deserts galore! As the brides made their way through the walk they got to view beautiful gowns, jewelry and bridal registry. At the end they were even awarded a sweet swag bag if they made it all the locations, which is featured below.

This event was so much fun and Modern Luxury Weddings did such an amazing job hosting it. Below are a few photographs shot by Collin Pierson Photography that wonderfully captured the day!

Thank you Modern Luxury for letting me be apart of such an amazing event!

Smurthi + Jeffery’s Indian Fusion Wedding

The photographer truly captured all the beautiful Indian wedding traditions and heartfelt moments throughout the day. I was so happy to be apart of this marvelous day.
