Kelsey + Dave: Part 2

In my last post, I shared Kelsey and Dave’s getting ready and photos around the city. Now, I’m excited to share their ceremony and reception!

Kelsey and Dave held their ceremony in the atrium at the Ravenswood Event Center. The room was filled with beautiful, warm sunlight and the couple accented the room with big, red balloons! Their ring bearer was even lucky enough to walk down the aisle with a big red balloon of his own.

What a beautiful aisle for Kelsey to walk down in a fantastic space!

Finally, Kelsey and Dave were officially husband and wife!

While the ceremony was taking place upstair, I was downstairs making sure everything was ready for the cocktail hour and dinner.

Kelsey and Dave’s cake incorporated special details, including their cat, the Chicago skyline and the London skyline.

Mustaches were a theme throughout the day, and I love how the couple incorporated them into their escort cards! The gentlemen received mustaches and the ladies received big, red lips.

They were a big hit with the guests!

During dinner, I went back upstairs to the atrium to get ready for the dancing part of the reception. Kelsey and Dave crafted an amazing sweets table for their guests! They provided some chocolates and other items that were special to them, and then Luscious Layers provided delicious whoopie pies and all kinds of tasty treats.

The red balloons from the ceremony were also repurposed around the room.

Kelsey and Dave shared their first dance…

…and then the dance floor was opened up to everyone. This group was not shy and everyone had so much fun!

To keep the party going, a hot dog cart was rolled out and Chicago-style hotdogs were provided as a late night snack. Yum!

Kelsey changed back into her cheongsam and the couple danced the night away!

Kelsey and Dave, I had so much fun being a part of your day!

Kristi + David, the reception

Yesterday, I posted about Kristi and David’s ceremony. It was a relatively calm day… until the reception. Held at the gorgeous Cultural Center, the reception turned into quite the party. The couple were so perfectly relaxed and happy. It was a wonderful day and I was so happy that I was able to spend their day with them.

All photos by Paul Huynh.

The room, as always, looked absolutely stunning.
The couple brought in gorgeous wooden chivari chairs and green linens that made the room look even more beautiful!

The couple chose Chicago landmarks for their table numbers. The centerpieces included an array of flowers that were very colorful. I’m glad that Kristi didn’t keep with the “typical” neutral October palette!

The couple hired us to bring in a gobo with their monogram, that included highlighting their city, Chicago!
The monogram was discretly positioned throughout the room.

Another view of the table top.
The place cards, table number and menu all had the deep chocolate brown border, creating a cohesive look.

A view of the room during the dinner. I chose the picture because the detail on the walls is esquisite.
If I was to have a 200 person wedding in Chicago, I would have picked the Cultural Center.

What says Chicago more than a popcorn buffet?
The couple offered an array of flavors and cute little take home containers for the guests that opted not to indulge during the reception!

Nothing gets a party going like a band! David Rothstein packed the dance floor.

What else gets your guests out on the dance floor? A bride and groom that are dancing!

The couple says thank you with DIY custom water bottles.

Yum! As you can tell, the night was quite the party. Guests always love a snack right before the end of the night. Keeping with the other Chicago touches, Berghoff Catering brought on mini hot dogs the last hour of the reception.

Kristi and David, Congratulations! I hope that you are enjoying this first year of marriage!

Real Wedding: Liz + Calvin, The Evening

Yesterday, I posted about Liz and Calvin’s wedding day. Today, I am going to post about the rest of the evening.

After a few hours on the town, the couple came back to the Stardust Suite to rest up and have a few drinks before the ceremony.

The room was dimly lit for a romantic feel. The decor was done by A Perfect Event.

The groom, Calvin, is Hawaiian. To celebrate his culture, the couple wore leis. After being pronounced husband and wife, Calvin moved the flower behind Liz’s right ear to her left ear, signaling that she is married woman.

In lieu of a traditional guest book, the couple had a framed Cubs jersey for everyone to sign. It was quite the hit!

The couple opted to have a Suite Table.

The gorgeous centerpieces. I love that the candles were up high so that they did not interfere with the guests from talking across the table.

Below is a close-up of the centerpiece. It’s modern yet romantic with all of that warm lighting from the pillars.

Liz’s Dad, Ira, cut the Challah and said a prayer.

The couple had a delicious Candy Buffet with bags for guests to take some home as a favor.

The couple cut their cake after the salad course. The cake table was decorated with the bridesmaids bouquets.

After dinner, the couple had their first dance to “Better When We’re Together” by Jack Johnson.

At around 11PM, the Allegro brought out some late night snacks to feed the hungry crowd.

A really cute ring shot!
Thank you so much for letting me be apart of your wedding day!
