Christa + Nicholas’ University Club Wedding

Christa and Nicholas had a beautiful summer wedding that incorporated many of the best parts of the city. From their gorgeous ceremony to the lively reception at the University Club of Chicago, every part of the day showcased their love for each other. Their elegant celebration was full of fun and personal touches, all captured beautifully by Kassia Phoy Photography.

Best of Bridal Beauty’s Recap!

I have been so busy that I haven’t had a chance to blog about this fabulous bridal event.  In April, I planned the Best of Bridal Beauty Event hosted by Nicole Pearl of The Beauty Girl.com. The event was held at The James and was filled with an evening full of pampering. Nicole wrote about the event here.

The services were over the top amazing and included manicures, massages, facial treatments, dry blowouts, airbrush tanning, makeup trials, and eyelash bar.




There were gift bags full of goodies valued over $100!


But that is not where the fun stopped… The ladies that attended had a chance to win fantastic prizes in the raffle that included: 



It was a great event and I am so excited to have had the opportunity to meet such fantastic ladies and be a part of the day!

Glam is one of my favorite websites for inspirational photos. I can usually get lost on there for a few hours. And since you are probably busy planning a wedding, you don’t need to bookmark yet another site to lose hours of your time. Except you do! Glam is great for finding fabulous photos of hair and make-up options to take for your trials.
I clipped the photo above of the lovely Zoe Saldana from the Oscars. I think you could take the photo to your hair stylist or your make-up artist. Why do you think? I love this look!

Oscar inspiration

The Oscars are my favorites. I love watching everyone get dressed up. For brides, it is a great place to get hair and make-up inspiration.

Stacey Dash’s hair is down but back and with volume. How do you not love that? It would work for many brides!


Patricia Clarkson rocked a very similar look to Sandra Bullock. I picked Patricia to show that this looks great on pale girls! The strong red lip is fabulous. I love the straight but gobs of body hair too!


Peaches N Cream is Kate Bosworth’s plan. It worked. She looks gorgeous. I think the make-up would look fab on a wedding day…but the hair? Skip it. Looks to casual for my taste.
