Nerissa + Joe’s Old St. Pat’s and Knickerbocker Wedding

Nerissa and Joe had a stunning fall wedding that incorporated many of the best parts of the city. From their gorgeous ceremony to the lively reception at the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel, every part of the day showcased their fun personalities and love for each other. Their elegant celebration was full of fun and personal touches, all captured beautifully by  Geber + Scarpelli photography.

After a beautiful ceremony the bridal party gathered for photos in many of Chicago’s most scenic spots, including Lasalle Street, the Kinzie Street Bridge, and Olive Park. After taking pictures, it was time to dance the night away!

I had such a wonderful time working with this vivacious couple and am so happy that I was able to be a part of planning their special day.

I love the fashionista look the Meghan put together on her wedding day.
Mixing a vintage style birdcage veil with the modern thick gold cuff screams FABULOUS.

Old St. Pat’s is one of my favorite churches in the city.

I adore this dress! The back of the dress fits Meghan perfectly!

The bride kept the flowers simple and small.

Nothing says Chicago like the Chicago Theatre.

The couple took some fabulous photos near the Water Tower.

Feeling lucky? Guests were given scratch off tickets as a favor.

Real Wedding: Jessica + John The Details

Yesterday, I posted on the real wedding of Jessica and John.  Today’s post focuses on the details!
If you have never seen the inside of Old St. Pat, then you are missing out.
It is one of the most beautiful churches in Chicago.

The Bride loved this photo of a cake from a magazine.

She translated the design into her colors.  I love it!

Jessica used Pretty Pen Jen for her pretty and sweet escort cards.

The couple rented out the entire first floor for their wedding celebration.

One of the tables at Maggiano’s.  Since Maggiano’s serves the food family style, the centerpieces are taken away prior to the first course.  Maggiano’s provides the table numbers as well as the centerpieces for all their guests.

A very welcomes DIY touch: Jessica and her Mom bought flip flops for the guests to keep them dancing all night long.  It was a huge hit!

Real Wedding: Jessica + John

Jessica and John were referred to me by a previous Honey Bee Weddings Client, Marissa and Drew.  Since the couple lives in New York City, they booked my services almost 14 months before their big day.
Jessica was a decisive bride.  As she just completed her second year of law school, she really didn’t have the luxury to waffle over every decision.  I adored that about her! She opted to have a classic Chicago wedding with her ceremony at Old St. Pat’s and the reception at the downtown Maggiano’s.

Jessica and her Maids got ready at a spacious suite at the Hilton Garden Inn.  Jessica’s gorgeous train began from the top of her dress, creating a dramatic look.

Since their ceremony was over by noon,
the couple spent the afternoon taking photos around the city.

Jessica and John didn’t just go for a classic look, their entire wedding classic.

The Bride and Groom with the Groomsmen at Kinzie St. Bridge.

The Bride and Groom loved cocktail parties.  They opted to keep the cocktail hour for an hour and half so that they could socialize with their guests.  I think every guest enjoyed it!

Cutting the cake!  The Bride opted to decorate the cake with fresh flowers.

The bridal party toasts as the Bride’s Father thanks the guests.
In lieu of a traditional head table, the couple sat with their bridal party at a 60″ round at the front of the room.

The couple kicked off the dancing with “I’m In The Mood For Love” by Louis Armstrong.

The couple opted to combine the Father/Daughter dance with the Mother/Son dance.  Jessica and her Gather danced to “Too Marvelous For Words” by Ella Fitzgerald.  In the second verse, John and his Mother cut in.

The Bride stayed on the dance floor all night in her lovely heels.

Towards the end of the evening, the couples snuck away from their guests for a few photos in the River North neighborhood.
