Kristen + Scott: The Details

As mentioned earlier this week, Kristen and Scott were recently featured in Brides Magazine. My first post highlighted Kristen and Scott’s ceremony. My last post showed their reception photos.

The flowers in Kristen’s jewelry were complemented by her beautiful Oscar de la Renta shoes.


I love all things paper, and I definitely appreciate a cohesive stationery suite. Here are their programs.


The bridal bouquet incorporated hydrangeas and orchids.


They used a book from the Art Institute as a guest book. It was fun for out of town guests to flip through the colorful pages about Chicago.


Their modern centerpieces included moss, orchids, carnations and succulents. Here is the arrangement on the head table.


These books from the Art Institute doubled as favors and escort cards. I did the calligraphy on the belly bands, which matched the invitations.


Decor included letters from Anthropologie and framed family photos.


This was such a fun wedding. Thanks for letting me be a part of your big day!

Kristen + Scott, Part Two

As mentioned earlier this week, Kristen and Scott were recently featured in Brides Magazine. My last post highlighted Kristen and Scott’s ceremony. Let’s take a peek at their reception photos.

The bride and groom took photos in The Art Institute prior to cocktail hour.

Cutting into their delicious cake: red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting and almond cake with creme brulee filling.

The couple shared their first dance to “This Year’s Love” by David Gray.

Taking a spin with her dad on the dance floor.

Kristen removed the peplum from her dress, and wore her necklace as a belt for the reception. She also added bold earrings.

Kristen and Scott snuck away for a few private moments during the reception.

Kristen + Scott: Part One

I first met with Kristen about six months before her wedding. She and Scott are both from New Jersey but now live in Chicago. Since they had so many out of town guests, they selected a venue that was uniquely Chicago: Terzo Piano in the new Modern Wing at the Art Institute of Chicago.

Getting beautiful before the ceremony. Sonia’s brushes are so soft, having your makeup done is a rather relaxing experience.


Ready to go! Kristen’s accessories were so fun and different. More on that later.

Walking down the aisle with her dad. This is a great shot of her dress, by Oscar de la Renta.

The deacon was the maid of honor’s father, so the ceremony was very sweet and personal.

I loved these bridesmaid dresses by Vera Wang, and the girls did, too.

You have to laugh at the unexpected cameos you get when taking photos around the city!


Though we had some rain before the ceremony, I think the lighting is beautiful and dramatic.
