Jessica + J.T.: The Reception at Galleria Marchetti

Yesterday, I posted the first part of Jessica and J.T.’s wedding.  Today’s post is dedicated to their beautiful reception at Galleria Marchetti.

All photo by Redwall Photography.

Galleria Marchetti is a hidden gem in the city.

The room looked stunning with the dramatic centerpieces by Scarlet Petal.

The first centerpiece was a round and lush sphere of flowers that included hydrangea, roses, cushion poms, and hypericum berries held in a tall and slender hourglass vase with a few hanging crystals as accent.

The second centerpiece was a trio of mercury glass pedastals that displayed pillar candles encased in glass hurricanes.  Surrounding the trio of candles was three mint julep cups containing more green hydrangeas, roses, and tulips.

The escort card table was simply beautiful.  There was a series of five cylinder vessels in varying heights that displayed groupings of blush pink and celadon hydrangeas with the prettiest pink escort cards that I have ever see!

Can we take one more look at those escort cards?  I love the POP of pink!

One very delicious cake by Amy Beck that included devil’s food chocolate and vanilla cake on alternating layers.

Scarlet Petal accented the cake with fresh flowers.

The ladies put their bouquets in vases on the head table.

Both Jessica and J.T. loved the Devil’s Food cake!

As the evening continued, there were a few toasts.

And then the dancing began courtesy of Dan Hayes Orchestra!

Congratulations to a very fun couple!  I wish all of the best in your future together.

Scott + Noopur Part II

On Tuesday, I featured Scott and Noopur’s wedding which is in the current issue of New Wedding Essentials.  They were also featured on Maharani Weddings…more on that tomorrow!

Yesterday, I posted about their morning.  Today will post about the couple’s ceremony and reception at the Harold Washington Library.

All photos by MonicaZ.

As guests entered the room, there was a non-traditional guest book: a card catalog with faux old fashioned library cards.

The room set-up for the ceremony

The gorgeous mandap; I love the lush roses!

The room during the ceremony…

…and then transformed for the reception!

Scott and Noopur set their sweetheart table on the mandap.

We added little touches like the Mr. and Mrs. signs to the back of their chairs.

These lush roses were on the front of their sweetheart table.

The lush centerpieces looked gorgeous on their long tables.

An example of one of their table numbers.

The table arrangements varied by each table.

The flowers on this simple cake turn it into a work of art!

Noopur surprised Scott with a groom’s cake highlighting Purdue University.

Noopur rented these gorgeous light up bars.  They were topped with a floral arrangement along with a photo of the couple (drinking of course)!

Scott and Noopur also rented furniture, creating a lounge, near the bars.

The couple during dinner.

After dinner, everyone was dancing the night away.

Good night!

Scott + Noopur, Part I

I met Noopur and Scott when I was 40 weeks and 1 day pregnant (with a delivery scheduled delivery four days later).  My enormous state of being had scared away many would-be clients (which I have yet to understand: pregnancy doesn’t last forever)!  Yet Noopur and Scott were the absolute nicest couple and didn’t even give my oversized belly a second thought.  As we talked, I was really excited with their plans.

I love this photo of Scott feeding Noopur as her hands dry.

It’s a gorgeous design, isn’t it?

On Friday, off to the rehearsal…

Noorpur and Scott held the dinner at Encore in the Hotel Allegro

And then the next day, she changed into these lovelies!

Noopur looked absolutely gorgeous on her wedding day.

Noopur sits as the final touches are made to her make-up.

Noopur thrilled with her wedding gift.

The detailing on Noopur’s gown is stunning.

Noopur and Scott at the first look was at the Cultural Center, a great back-up location for rain!

I’ll be back tomorrow with more photos!

E+N: The dreamy details with lots of amazing DIY!

Yesterday, I posted about E+N’s gorgeous wedding. Today, we’re showing off all of the fabulous details!

The lovely rings

Special touches on the bouquet

Amazing DIY skills of E, she made program/fans that included a crossword puzzle

The interior of the restaurant

E+N had a wonderful tablescape

Presents for the children is always a nice touch

Did I mention the brides DIY skills? She handmade books for every guest.

The couple lives in New York, so the New Yorker was used for table numbers.

Scarlet Petal made this gorgeous arrangement.

I had the most fabulous time working with E+N. My only regret is that it took me ages to blog about this wedding. Elizabeth Anne Designs posted about the wedding last year. I am still catching up on all of these fabulous weddings that need to be blogged!

Stephanie + Cameron – The Reception

Yesterday’s post featured Stephanie and Cameron’s ceremony. Today, we’ll look at their reception.

All photos by Jeremy Lawson Photography.

They took some fun shots around the city, starting with an L platform…

and ending with a dip in front of the Board of Trade!

Cafe Brauer is a popular reception site in Chicago. We were lucky to have a beautiful night.

Making their entrance into dinner. I love the detail on the back of Stephanie’s dress.

Cutting into their cake. Some of their guests own a bakery in Ohio and delivered both the cake and cupcakes for the reception.

They shared their first dance to “Better Together” by Jack Johnson.

Stephanie and Cameron were paired up for a project in a college class. They invited several of their old professors and personally thanked them for the successful, if unintentional, matchmaking.

The dance floor was packed throughout the evening.

Check back for the last post featuring some of the great details from their event.

Stephanie + Cameron – The Ceremony

I actually stepped in to help with Stephanie and Cameron’s wedding fairly late in the process, and we didn’t even meet until the week of the wedding! However, she was not only organized, but super sweet so it was very easy. Her parents were also very involved – it’s so nice to see a family who’s genuinely excited about the wedding.

Getting ready at the Belden Stratford Hotel. My favorite thing is when a bride is not stressed but having a glass of champagne with her girls!

Stephanie’s gift to her mother. I think it’s a lovely keepsake.

In the assembly line of pinning the groomsmen’s boutonnieres, Jeremy took this shot. Do you see my detailed timeline in the background?

The ring bearers passing some time before the ceremony began.

Both Stephanie and Cameron are DePaul alumni, so this church had special meaning for them.

Officially husband and wife!

The bride and groom took a celebratory twirl in the back of the church.

In the next post, we’ll take a peek at their reception at a popular site, Cafe Brauer, in Chicago.

Clare + Tom, the party…

Yesterday, I posted about Clare + Tommy’s morning.
Today’s post is going to focus on their gorgeous wedding reception!
In lieu of traditional escort cards, the couple tied labels to Izze bottles of soda.

For their signature drink, the couple ordered custom stir sticks…

… as well as custom napkins.

I am never a fan of a boring guest book. Clare + Tommy had a gorgeous framed photo made for them on etsy.

The room was lovely! With the long tables, the bride worked with Scarlet Petal to come up with the most gorgeous decor. When guests brought their bottles of Izze soda, it just made the table look more colorful!

A close-up of the flowers. Like me, Clare favors dense arrangements.

I love this shade of sherbert orange used for the card box.

The couple’s cake was very chic and modern.

Since the venue boasted an extra long bar, the couple set the candy buffet at the far end in lieu of favors.

It was a sweet treat for the guests to take home that evening.

Clare + Tommy, I had a wonderful time spending your wedding day with you!

Clare + Tommy, The Morning…

Clare used to be roommates with my sister-in-law, Briana. So my initial consultation with Clare and Tommy was a breeze. We met at an awful coffee shop on a Sunday afternoon to talk about their wedding plans. They uttered the words that I heard all of the time, “We are non-traditional”… but this time, the couple meant it! There was to be no bridal party introductions, first dance, and they wanted to see each other before the ceremony. I appreciate the fact when a couple does exactly what they want.

Clare was totally relaxed the morning of her wedding.

Bows on dresses always rank high in my book… but it was her Juicy Couture flats that I really adored!

Afll dressed up and ready to leave Sonia’s boutique.

Clare purchased her veil on Etsy.
I really adored the flower that pinned the veil in her hair. Very glamorous!

The couple met and took photos in the city.

Tommy rocked a skinny a tuxedo. I love the look!

How do you not love their shoes?

Clare asked all of her bridesmaids to wear their favorite black dress. I love that the necklines are all very different!

More city shots.

I loved Clare’s bouquet. Paring fuschia with orange could be overkill in a bridal bouquet but Esther made the arrangement so lovely.

After a few hours of photos, the couple headed to the church to get married!

The first look of the muted pink, orange, and yellow color scheme.

Before the ceremony, Tommy gave Clare a twirl.
No one was nervous and everyone felt very relaxed!

The church is absolutely gorgeous!

After the ceremony, the couple walked to the reception!

Photos of the reception will be up tomorrow!
