Erin + Joe’s Union League of Chicago Wedding

This wonderful winter wedding was such a joy to plan! I loved how the organic floral design complimented the regal Union League Club.  The cozy fireplace and Christmas lights added the perfect touch. It was a delightful evening, that was filled with lots of love!

Jessic + Eric: The Details

Yesterday’s post featured Jessica and Eric’s wedding and reception. Here are some of the details.

I love it when a bride wears colorful shoes!

Jessica made her matron of honor’s bouquet, shown here, as well as her own.

The programs were another DIY project.

The bride and groom incorporated a wine and chocolate ceremony into the service.

Eric got in the spirit and wore colorful socks!

Jessica made these accordion trays to hold the escort cards.

The cake perfectly complements the warm, fall theme.

Candlelight always makes a room feel more romantic. Here is one of the centerpieces.

Other centerpieces included bunches of hydrangeas in a rustic looking nest. Candles were wrapped with vellum table numbers. Jessica added threading to the layered menu cards.

The bride and groom opted for a family style dinner, and asked members of their families to bring their own signature desserts to add to the sweet table.

There was a large assortment of cupcakes, including red velvet. Yum!

In lieu of a guest book, guests were asked to sign squares of fabric that the couple will later use to make a quilt.

Jessica is a sweet tooth – a girl after my own heart. In addition to the extensive dessert table and cake, guests were given different flavors of caramel apples to bring home.

Thanks so much for allowing me to be a part of your big day. Congratulations!

Jessica + Eric

Jessica and Eric are both from the Chicagoland area, but recently moved to Arizona. My husband and I had planned a trip to Phoenix for our anniversary, so as luck would have it I was able to meet the couple while we were out in Arizona.

The bride and groom wanted their wedding to feel like Thanksgiving – warm, welcoming and shared with loved ones. Their bridal party was small and included only family, and everyone was really excited to be a part of their big day. Jessica and Eric were so sweet and a dream to work with.

The bride is just about ready to go.

Jessica’s nieces were very excited about their roles as flower girls. They practiced in the suite to make sure they got it just right.

The couple offered hot apple cider to help warm guests on the chilly day. Needless to say, it was a huge hit.

Though it was a bit cold, you’d never know it by looking at the beaming bride!

Jessica had her heart set on getting married outside in the garden. It rained the night before, but luck was on our side!

The environmentally friendly park was a beautiful backdrop.

Once the ceremony was over, everyone could relax!

Here’s a shot of the beautiful room.

Jessica and Eric danced to “The Way I Am” by Ingrid Michaelson.

Like many of my couples, Jessica and Eric chose to sit at a sweetheart table. I love the way the light changes in the room throughout the evening.

The dance floor was packed all night. The kids definitely had a blast!

The water and city lights look so pretty.

Tomorrow, we’ll look at some details from their wedding.
